TODAY’S FORECAST
FRIDAY SNOW FORECAST
We have a clipper system moving our way on Friday. These systems are fast moving and moisture starved plus they don’t typically cause much trouble.
Cumberland Plateau gets 1/2″ or less
Valley north of Knoxville get’s light snow to a light dusting
Valley south of Knoxville get’s light snow to flurries or maybe even nothing in Chattanooga
7AM – NOON
–It becomes overcast and it will have that it’s going to snow winter feeling. We could start to see some light snow develop along the Cumberland Plateau.
Noon – 3PM
–Snow spreads to the southeast with some light rain possible in the valley. But, I really think we have a good shot for snow after 3pm.
3PM – 7PM
–Snow continues to develop and could be heavy at times as this wave races to the southeast. That will continue a strong northwest flow, allowing the snow to really develop along the northwest facing peaks.
Light snow will continue in the mountains through the overnight hours as we wring out the atmosphere.
As far as temperatures go, we start off chilly in the 30s. We’ll only climb to near 40 for the lunch hour and likely begin to see temps after lunch time. That’s going to make for a chilly evening if you have outdoor plans.
Always stay in the know.
