THE BIG STORY
The deep trough continues to hang out for us in East Tennessee. The upper level storm track brings another disturbance through the area overnight tonight. That will bring light snow to the area. But, more disturbances will swing through this week with some light rian and light snow.

We start the day off with clear skies and chilly morning temperatures. Lows dipped to the 20s and low 30s. Through lunch we’ll stay sunny with increasing high clouds. Temps will warm to the mid to upper 30s. The clouds will continue to increase through the afternoon and evening as our disturbance moves closer. High temperatures climb to the upper 30s to low 40s. Well below average for this time of the year. Actuallly, more in line with January tempeatures, but even colder than that.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Not much change in the weather pattern this week. The trough continues to linger with a few disturbances move through in the upper level pattern. That will bring light snow to the higher elevations with some light rain in the valley. But, these waves of energy will also bring colder shots of air to East Tennessee and much of the southeast.
We will track that next disturbance this evening and overnight tonight. Another shot of light snow will develop, especially along the peaks of the Smokies where we could pick up upwards of 5″ by sunrise on Tuesday. Colder air swings in behind this wave with highs in the mid to upper 30s. Lows will be in the teens and 20s most days of with some days start in the 30s and 40s.
