THE BIG STORY

Have a great Sunday!
A ridge of high pressure dominates the southeaster United States. A trough will swing our way, but weaken as it does so. While it will bring s cold front into the area mid to late week, it just doesn’t bring much in the way of rainfall. However, a tropical system looks to form and moving into the Gulf of Mexico. That could bring us elevated rain chances into next weekend.

TODAY’S FORECAST

Wow… this warm, November weather continues through the day today!
That means we will once again experience well above average temperatures. Highs reach the mid to upper 70s under mostly sunny skies. It’s going to be a great day to get outside, however, like this past week, the dew points will stay elevated, in the 50s and 60s. That’s translates to a warmer feel to the air during the afternoon.
Remmeber, we will see the sun set tongiht at 5:38pm.

ENJOY THE DAY!

BUT IT DOESN’T STOP THERE

THE REST OF THE STORY

That ridge of high pressure is the name of the game for the next 7 days. We will see a few rain chances increase mid to late week as a weakening trough and cold front swing into the area. At this point, it looks like we’ll see 1/4″ or less. With that said, we are going to be watching a potential tropical system develop in the Gulf of Mexico. While to won’t race into our area, it looks to throw tropical mositure our way as we head into next weekend. This would be great news as we desparately need the rain right about now.

A LOOK AHEAD

As mentioned above, we are looking at high pressure and above average temperatures as we round out October and start November! While the Climate Prediction Center has added a small probability of an increase in the rain chances over the next 6-10 and 8-14 days out. However, based on the latest model guidance, I don’t see much in the way of rain heading our way.
We desparately need some rainfall soon!
The good news is that as we head into the winter months, our precipitation will likely increase, based on climatology.
