THE BIG STORY

This November ‘heat’ continues today, but there is a cooling trend headed our way through the weekend. However, we will continue to trend above average.
We have a couple of disturbances heading our way over the next seven days. We’ll have a few light showers today as our cold front swings through. Another disturbance late Saturday through Sunday/Monday and another one next Wednesday.
Combine all of this, we’ll see the potential for some rainfall.

I will post a lot more on social media. Please be sure to like and follow @MikeWitcherTV on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Along with @ETNweather on Facebook.

TODAY’S FORECAST

We start the day off with some fog and lower clouds. I anticipate these clouds to stick around, however, afternoon sunshine is expected more in the valley than the plateau and mountains. We will once again see near record high temperatures. There is a chance for a few light showers as the front slides through.

THE REST OF THE STORY

Today’s cold front will slide to our southeast. It doesn’t bring much in the way of drier air, but we will see afternoon highs come down a bit, closwer to the seasonal averages. A storm system is ejecting out of the Rockies to the Upper Midwest. This will throw some energy our way. The best timing right now is late Saturday and through Sunday.
If you are headed to the football game, I anticipate it to be rain free, however shortly after the game the rain looks to settle in. This will make for a wet start to our Sunday. As of now, it looks like Sunday will be more of a rainy day, bringing us much needed rain.
Another disturbance looks to roll our way next Wednesday/Thursday. That looks to bring us another shot for rain. Rainfall totals could add up.

A LOOK AHEAD

As mentioned above, we are looking at high pressure and above average temperatures as we round out October and start November! While the Climate Prediction Center has added a small probability of an increase in the rain chances over the next 6-10 and 8-14 days out. However, based on the latest model guidance, rainfall will begin to increase this week and the weekend.
We definitely need the rain!
