THE BIG STORY
Here we go! Election Day and the weather couldn’t be more perfect.
There is a cold front moving through on Wednesday with potential tropical moisture through the upcoming weekend. But, we don’t cool down behind the cold front, so expect above average temperatures.

TODAY’S FORECAST
We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather for Election Day!
Voter turnout is hugely impacted by the weather…. so it’s nice to experience above average weather today!
We started the morning off with temperatures above average, in the 50s & 60s, which was warmer than yesterday morning. We’ll continue to warm up as we head toward the lunch hour. If you can’t get out to vote until lunch time, there won’t be any issues with the weather, as temperatures warm to the mid to upper 70s.
Afternoon highs will be near record levels.
Knoxville – 84° set in 1948
Chattanooga – 80° set in 1948
Tri-Cities – 79° set in 2022
We’ll have a mix of sun and clouds, but more sunshine today than yesterday!
ENJOY THE DAY!

THE REST OF THE STORY
A cold front will be working our way today, which will increase the wind. The wind will pick up again overnight tonight, mainly in the mountains. Not as strong as last night. The clouds will increase through the day on Wednesday as some spotty light showers will roll through. Off and on light showers will continue through Thursday, but should fade a bit on Friday. Then, tropical moisture may be heading our way Saturday and Sunday as we track Tropical Storm Rafeal gets picked up from an upper level trough and could move into our area. We’ll see how it plays out, but for now, expect a wet and cloudy weekend with high temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s.
A LOOK AHEAD
As mentioned above, we are looking at high pressure and above average temperatures as we round out October and start November! While the Climate Prediction Center has added a small probability of an increase in the rain chances over the next 6-10 and 8-14 days out. However, based on the latest model guidance, rainfall will begin to increase this week and the weekend.
We definitely need the rain!
