THE BIG STORY
A cold front moved through during the overnight hours bringing some much needed rain to East Tennessee. While we start off wet, we dry out through the day and the next couple of days before another cold front swings into the area mid to late week. While we don’t see a ton of rain, at least we’ll get a little more than what we’ve seen in the past few weeks. We will cool down closer to those seasonal averages, which will make it finally feel like November.

TODAY’S FORECAST
Not everyone got the rain last night or early this morning, but at least we got some decent rain for some of us. If you are headed to the Veteran’s Day Parade, it will be a little dreary and damp, but the rain shouldn’t be a problem. The low, overcast skies will gradually break up through the late morning and early afternoon, but then abundant sunshine this afternoon. Temperatures will be just like Sunday with highs in the upper 60s to low to mid 70s. And the evening should be perfect, if you have any plans.
ENJOY THE DAY!
BUT IT DOESN’T STOP THERE

THE REST OF THE STORY
High pressure builds in for the next couple of days before our next disturbance moves through the area. While we stay above average, at least it will be more seasonal. That means high temperatures will be in the 60s with lows in the 40s. So yes, colder mornings area head this week.
Our midweek storm system will move through Wednesday into Thursday. At this time, I think it will be very similar to what we had last night. That means, we will seeincreasing clouds through the day on Wednesday with mild mid 60s. The cold front will come through during the overnight hours, bringing a line of showers and a few rumbles of thunder. Rainfall amounts look to be less than 1/2″ at this time. Behind the cold front, slightly drier and cooler air settles in. Temperatures Thursday and Friday will finally be average. Highs will be in the upper 50s to low 60s with lows in the 30s and 40s. A bit of a shock to the system based on the warmth we’ve had over the past few weeks.
A LOOK AHEAD
As mentioned above, we are looking at high pressure and above average temperatures as we round out October and start November! While the Climate Prediction Center has added a small probability of an increase in the rain chances over the next 6-10 and 8-14 days out. However, based on the latest model guidance, rainfall will begin to increase this week and the weekend.
We definitely need the rain!
