THE BIG STORY

Happy Friday, the first day of November!
We’ve been tracking a cold front that has brought us the clouds and the rain. Much needed rain as we ended October as the fourth driest October on record. Behind this front, high pressure builds back in.

I will post a lot more on social media. Please be sure to like and follow @MikeWitcherTV on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Along with @ETNweather on Facebook.

TODAY’S FORECAST

We start the day off with overcast skies and scattered showers. We will continue to see off and on showers through the day as we have lingering moisture and energy. As the day progresses, the cloud deck will slowly lift, we’ll see some afternoon sunshine, but still may hang on to a few afternoon and early evening showers. Something to keep in mind if you have Friday evening plans.
Morning temperatures are mild, in the 50s and 60s. We will be slow to warm up thanks to the rain and clouds. Lunch time temps will only be in the low 60s with afternoon highs back closer to those seasonal averages, upper 60s to low 70s. Grab the light jacket, as the sun goes down, temps will stay in the upper 50s to low 60s. By the end of the day, many of us will see a little rain.

ENJOY THE DAY!

THE REST OF THE STORY

High pressure builds in behind the Friday’s cold front, which will help clear the skies and warm us right back up. The weekend will be above average as highs warm back to the mid to upper 70s under mostly sunny skies. Our dew points stay elevated, in the 50s and 60s, so we will continue to have well above average morning lows. The average low is in the low 40s, but we will stay in the 50s and 60s for lows.

A LOOK AHEAD

As mentioned above, we are looking at high pressure and above average temperatures as we round out October and start November! While the Climate Prediction Center has added a small probability of an increase in the rain chances over the next 6-10 and 8-14 days out. However, based on the latest model guidance, I don’t see much in the way of rain heading our way.
We desparately need some rainfall soon!
The good news is that as we head into the winter months, our precipitation will likely increase, based on climatology.
