The weekend it looking dry.
But, we will be tracking two waves of rain heading into and through Thanksgiving week.

TODAY’S FORECAST

It’s going to be another chilly day. We start off with some light snow around the area, but they will fade through the day. However, the clouds will stick around through the day with a few splashes of sunshine expected. We’ll continue to see a few light snow showers in the mountains as our storm moves off to our southeast.
Highs will be below average topping out in the 40s. But, we’ll have the wind blowing again through the day, so expect wind chills to stay in the 30s and low 40s.

THE REST OF THE STORY

As our storm moves to our southeast, we’ll begin to see improoving conditions through the weekend. More light snow is possinle through the day today. The clouds will stick around for the first half of Saturday. But clearing skies Saturday afternoon will keep us clear heading into Sunday. That will bring the coldest morning so far with lows in the low 30s. High pressure builds back in through the weekend. That means more sunshine and warming temperatures. Sunday looks to be the best day of the weekend.
Heading into Thanksgiving week we will be tracking two waves of rain. One Monday night into Tuesday morning bringing us light rain, less than 1/4″. But, another, more potent wave swings through Wednesday night and through our Thanksgiving day. That second round of rain looks to produce anywhere from 1″-2″ by Friday morning.
So, if you have travel plans for Thanksgiving week, most of the week should be just fine. But, if you are traveling on Thanksgiving Day, the rain will slow you down.

A LOOK AHEAD

We will warm toward the end of the 7 day forecast, but as mentioned above, colder air is heading our way next week. The Climate Prediction Center has already pinpointed that on their 8-14 day outlook. With next weeks storm, we look to see elevated precipitation, but behind it, very dry air settles in, which means a drier pattern sets up shop.
