THE BIG STORY
Well my friends, we are finally starting to enter peak fall colors in the foothill and the mountains of East Tennessee. There’s a little color starting to pop in the lower elevations. And with these sunny warm day & clear, cool night, the colors will continue to strengthen a little more over the next week.
Unfortunately, we are not looking at much rainfall over the next 7 days. The lack of rainfall will keep our colors muted from previous years.

TODAY’S FORECAST
Today will be the warmest day this week and the next seven days. We have a cold front moving into the area. That will increase the clouds and bring us a bit of an afternoon breeze. But, it is moisture starved, so we won’t see any rainfall from this front.
We started the day off with temps in the 40s & 50s under clear skies. Heading into the lunch hour, temperatures will climb to the mid to upper 60s. That will make for a perfect lunch hour to spend outside as one of the amazing patios we have in town. Afternoon highs warm to the mid to upper 70s and low 80s in the southern valley.
If you have evening plans, it will be very comfortable.
ENJOY THE DAY!
BUT IT DOESN’T STOP THERE

THE REST OF THE STORY
The next week will trend at or above average for highs and lows. Because our dew points will be in the 40s and 50s, that means our morning lows will stay in the 40s & 50s. We have a couple of cold fronts on the way. One today and another one on Saturday. They are moisture starved. So again, we won’t see any rainfall today, just a few clouds. On Saturday we will have a very slight chance for a stray light, like very light, shower, if we see anything at all. The wind will pick up through the day and the clouds will be with us. Temperatures will be pushing the upper 70s. Behind the cold front, the dew points will drop a little bit which will allow morning lows to drop a little and afternoon highs back to those seasonal averages. Those average temperatures will not last long as we continue to warm to above average.

A LOOK AHEAD
As mentioned above, we are looking at high pressure and above average temperatures as we round out October and start November! We’re also likely to be trending on the drier side. Not necessarily great news as the drought will likely build back in and realize we are in fire season.
