THE BIG STORY
Welcome to the weekend! And not just a weekend, a perfect fall weekend. Once again, our weather pattern is dominated by a ridge of high pressure hanging strong over the south central part of the United States. That brings us warmer and drier weather. And it looks to hold strong through the weekend and some of next week.
I will post a lot more on social media. Please be sure to like and follow @MikeWitcherTV on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Along with @ETNweather on Facebook.
TODAY’S FORECAST
We start the day off with a bit warmer weather than the previous few days, but still chilly if you’re going to be out and about. But, you can definitely shed that jackets as we get closer to the lunch and through the afternoon. Highs today will reach the low 70s, which is right where we should be for this time of the year. A solid average fall day ahead.
If you’re headed to Downtown Knoxville for the UT football game, you’ll need the sunglasses and a light hoodie. If you have seats in the shade, it will feel cool, but pleasant. If you are in the direct sun, it will be quite toasty! Plan accordingly.
If you have plans for a Saturday night fire pit, enjoy because it will be perfect!
Have a great Saturday!
BUT IT DOESN’T STOP THERE

THE REST OF THE STORY
That ridge of high pressure that will bring us above average temperatures through the middle part of next week. That ridge will keep storms away from us, so we will stay dry.
Now, with that said, we do have a cold front that expected to move through the area on Thursday as an upper level disturbance rolls out of Colorado and into the Upper Midwest. That will bring a bit of a breeze, a few clouds, but unfortunately it doesn’t look like it will bring much in the way of rain.
So for now, we will stay dry through the next 7 days. And likely the case over the next 2 weeks.
A LOOK AHEAD
We are in for a nice dry weather pattern this week. But, per the Climate Prediction Center, we are going to be on the drier side through the middle of the month. Which, of course, is par for the course for the month of October. Plus, we end the 7 day stretch on the colder than average side, but a ridge of warmer high pressure will start to nudge our way over the next two weeks.
