THE BIG STORY
Good morning! Not much has changed in the big, synoptic scale, weather patterns.
A ridge of high pressure dominates the weather pattern through the upcoming weekend and beyond. That means, we will stay dry and warmer than average.
I will post a lot more on social media. Please be sure to like and follow @MikeWitcherTV on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Along with @ETNweather on Facebook.

TODAY’S FORECAST
Happy Friday! It’s going to be just a little warmer today than it was the previous couple of days. That all associated with that ridge of high pressure. Temperatures start off in the 30s and 40s with some areas of frost, but not as much. As we head toward the lunch hour, it will feel great in the sunshine, but cool in the shade. Afternoon highs are back to those seasonal averages, low 70s across all of East Tennessee. And, since it’s Friday, tonight will be a perfect night for a Friday night fire pit! If you do that, I’d love for you to upload a picture on the eastTNweather app under Witcher’s Pictures.
BUT IT DOESN’T STOP THERE

THE REST OF THE STORY
Like I mentioned above, not much change in the forecast for the next five to seven days.
But, let’s get pick it apart.
That ridge of high pressure will slowly fade toward the Gulf of Mexico as an upper level disturbance moves out of Colorado and into the Upper Midwest through the middle part of next week. That will push a cold front through the area.
However, like the last few cold fronts, it’s moisture starved. So, don’t expect much in the way of rain. The cold front will drop our dew points a few degrees, which will allow those morning lows next weekend to drop a little as well. Just nothing crazy.
Hey, if you are heading to Neyland Stadium on Saturday for the big football game agains Alabama, it’s going to be perfect. High temperatures for the day will occur around kick off, which should be in the 70s. If you have plans to be out and about Saturday evening, temperatures will fall back to the mid 50s by 9pm.

A LOOK AHEAD
We are in for a nice dry weather pattern this week. But, per the Climate Prediction Center, we are going to be on the drier side through the middle of the month. Which, of course, is par for the course for the month of October. Plus, we end the 7 day stretch on the colder than average side, but a ridge of warmer high pressure will start to nudge our way over the next two weeks.
