THE BIG STORY

A cold front will bring us a chance for scattered, much needed rain today. After that, we may have some lingering clouds and light rain on Sunday, but generally speaking, we are drying out through the last week of October.

I will post a lot more on social media. Please be sure to like and follow @MikeWitcherTV on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Along with @ETNweather on Facebook.

TODAY’S FORECAST

We start the morning off with mostly cloudy skies and dry weather conditions. Temperatures start in the 40s and 50s. We will climb to the 60s for the lunch hour with afternoon highs in the low to mid 70s north of I-40, but upper 70s to low 80s south of I-40. If you have evening plans, I anticipate the showers will wind down closer to sundown. There may be a few rumbles of thunder as there is a little instibility. The latest model guidance is bringing in some decent showers after noon. Something to think about if you have afternoon outdoor plans.

THE REST OF THE STORY

A ridge of high pressure begins to build in to start the workweek. This ridge will bring the late October heat. High temperatures will climb to the mid to upper 70s to even low 80s in the southern valley mid to late week. Halloween looks to be warm & dry. Highs will be near 80. But, the dew points will stay in the upper 50s to near 60. That means, when the sun goes down on Halloween, it will stay mild. It also means our morning lows will stay mild, in the 50s and low 60s. Like I said, a warm and dry week ahead. A cold front looks to arrive on Friday, November 1st, which looks to bring us a chance for light rain, at this time. Make sure to check back in later this week.

A LOOK AHEAD

As mentioned above, we are looking at high pressure and above average temperatures as we round out October and start November! We’re also likely to be trending on the drier side. Not necessarily great news as the drought will likely build back in and realize we are in fire season.
