TROPICAL NEWS

BIG UPDATE
Hurricane Milton has now become a category 3 hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. The National Hurricane Center has Milton becoming a category 4 hurricane late Monday night into Tuesday morning. Now, the storm looks to have slowed down by 12-24 hours. It now looks to make landfall late Wednesday into early Thursday. This is great news for all the preperations along the coast, giving people more time.

TODAY’S FORECAST

Now on to our boring, yet amazing weather here in East Tennessee.
A nice ridge of high pressure is building in from Canada. That will not only bring us drier air through the day, as dew points drop from now through the evening, but it will bring down those 80s we saw on Sunday, to the mid to upper 70s.

BUT IT DOESN’T STOP THERE

THE REST OF THE STORY

The cold front is now to our southeast. Behind it, a ridge of high pressure builds in for the rest of the week. This will bring us much drier and cooler air. I mean, I’m talking perfect fall weather. The kind where you can open the windows and let some fresh air in. The kind where it’s comfortable to be outside, but will likely need those light jackets or sweatshirts during the morning hours. But, you can shed them through the day as temperatures warm to the low to mid 70s.
I hope you are looking forward to this weather pattern as much as I am.

A LOOK AHEAD

We are in for a nice dry weather pattern this week. But, per the Climate Prediction Center, we are going to be on the drier side through the middle of the month. Which, of course, is par for the course for the month of October.

A LOOK BACK

It’s amazing how fast a drought can disapprear, but it’s also amazing what Mother Nature can do to get there.
We continue to have a moderate drought in the southern valley, as expected. The just didn’t get the rain that Upper East Tennessee received. With October being the driest month of the year, this drought will likely expand over the next few weeks. Check back in.
