THE BIG STORY
Today is going to be another fantastic day! And that weather pattern continues through the weekend and all next week. Now, there will be little bump in the road on Saturday as a cold front swings through. But, it won’t change the forecast much.
More on that below.
I will post a lot more on social media. Please be sure to like and follow @MikeWitcherTV on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Along with @ETNweather on Facebook.
TODAY’S FORECAST
We start the morning off with seasonal temperatures, 40s & 50s. We’ll warm to the mid to upper 60s through the lunch hour, but of course, we don’t stop there. Highs will be pushing the upper 70s to low 80s in the southern valley. If you have evening plans, enjoy the outdoors as it will be comfortable. Sure, you’ll need a light jacket after sundown.
ENJOY THE DAY!

THE REST OF THE STORY
After another warm day today, we will likely be even warmer on Friday. A cold front and trough will be swinging toward and through East Tennessee on Friday night and Saturday. That will help to push our afternoon highs in Friday to near record. We’ll be in the upper 70s to low 80s. The cold front will be moving through Friday night and through Saturday. It will bring us more bark than bite. Meaning, we will have more clouds than rain. We do have the chance for a few light showers, but they should be fairly sparse, if we see any at all. Because of the clouds, our high temperatures on Saturday will be slightly cooler than on Friday. The cooler air will settle in behind the front, which will allow our afternoon highs to drop to the upper 60s on Sunday. But, it will be sunny. So, Sunday will be the best day of the weekend to get out and enjoy the fall colors in the mountains.
As we head into Halloween, another ridge of high pressure will build back. That will bring the heat for the last week of October. But, it may not stop there. The Climate Prediction Center is thinking we will stay above average for the first week to maybe two weeks of November.
A LOOK AHEAD
As mentioned above, we are looking at high pressure and above average temperatures as we round out October and start November! We’re also likely to be trending on the drier side. Not necessarily great news as the drought will likely build back in and realize we are in fire season.
