An upper level wave is moving in later today. This will help promote afternoon showers and storms.
With all the rain we’ve seen over the past 7 days, localized flood & flash flood concerns will be with us.
We also have a level 1 risk for isolated strong to severe storms.
As for the heat, yes, it will be another hot and muggy day today with high tmperautres in the 90s, but the heat index will be pushing close to 100°.

LOOKING AHEAD
Heading into the weekend, a cold front will be swinging through. This will spark off a few isolated showers and storms on Saturday, but the coverage, intensity and the flash flood risk goes way down.
Sunday will be the best day of the weekend if you’re planning something outside.
We start next week off with quite a bit of heat and humidity. So, yet again, our heat index will be over 100° for several days.
