It’s going to be another amazing, sunny day with just a touch more heat and humidity. But, the humidity won’t be so high, therefore the heat index will be close to the afternoon high temperatures.

THE DROUGHT WORSENS
We now have much of the southern valley and the plateau under a SEVERE DROUGHT. Finally some rain is showing up in the forecast. We won’t see much through the weekend or even the start of next week, but by Wednesday and Thursday timeframe, a cold front looks to swing into the area to bring us that much needed rain!
Looking ahead through the weekend and into next week, the heat and humidity will continue to build. That will lead to some of the hottest weather so far this summer season. High temperatures will be pushing the upper 90s to low 100s. As the humidity builds, that will lead to a heat index near HEAT ADVISORY criteria. We’re also talking heat stress. As the kids get back to practices outdoors, the heat stress Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the high to extreme category.
Coaches and parents need to make sure they get plenty of breaks, shade and water!
