TODAY’S FORECAST

What an amazing start to our Thursday. We had lower humidity in place which allowed our morning lows to dip into the 60s. The humidity will stay on the lower end through the day today. Yes, it will be warm, but at least it’s not as hot as it’s been. It’s nice to see a little break this time of the year.
So, get out and enjoy it if you can!

THE DROUGHT WORSENS

We now have much of the southern valley and the plateau under a SEVERE DROUGHT. Unfortunately, we are not looking at getting much rainfall over the next 7 days, plus temperatures will continue to climb with the hottest weather of the season next week.

Thanks to a dry cold front associated with the remnants of Beryl, the humidity has dropped. We know in the month of July, it won’t last long. And that is so true for the next 7 days. While the dew points slowly climb through the weekend and into next week, a ridge of high pressure will bring us some of the hottest weather of the season so far. Heat index temperatures will be pushing close, if not over, HEAT ADVISORY criteria next week.
Continue to practice heat safety if you are planning to be outdoors for an extended amount of time.
