TODAY’S FORECAST

Have a great start to the workweek. I wish I could say there will be some changes coming our way, but unfortunately this week looks to be much more of the same.

A river of moisture is being fed in from the Gulf of Mexico. That is increasing our humdity levels, it’s brining in a lot of available moisture to aid in tropicall like downpours with the showers that develop during the afternoon and evening.

High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s. So, seasonal weather expected, but with high dew points, the heat index will be pushing the mid to upper 90s.

Yes, the sweat factor is in full force today and through the week.

Remember to track the rain with the eastTNweather Interactive Radar giving you, current, past and future radar of two hours.

LOOKING AHEAD

You can clearly see that the dew points will be reaching the low to pockets of mid 70s. That’s tropical feeling, making those heat indices push the low 90s some days.
With all this moisture in place, we’ll be tracking a few disturbances. That will bring those elevated rain chances. Most of these will be dirunally driven, meaning we have to heat up the air in order for storms to fire.
But, this is much needed rain considering we are in a drought around the Tennessee Valley. All this rain will likely help mitigate the drought situiation and of course I’ll keep you updated each day.
This could also lead to localized flooding and flash flooding concerns through the week.
