The heat and humidity contune to be with us through the day today. We will see a few spotty afternoon showers and storms. A couple could become strong to severe along the Tennessee & Kentucky border through the early afternoon and evening. Otherwise, most will stay dry. Heat index values today will be in the mid to upper 90s.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a level 1 risk for isolated strong to severe storms Saturday and Sunday as a cold front swings into the area.

Looking through the weekend and into the start of next week, the heat and humidity will produce heat index values in the mid to upper 90s and low 100s. Monday, however will be amazing feeling. The humidity drops, therefore we will not have heat index values to start the workweek. But, it’s short lived as the heat and humidity build through the first week of July.
