A BEAUTIFUL DAY AHEAD WITH ELEVATED FIRE DANGER
Happy Saturday!
It has a nice little ring to it, doesn’t it. I suppose if you’re not working. Anyways, we start the day off with temps in the 30s and 40s. So, a chilly start to the day, but we warm fairly quickly. Lunch time temps will be in the 50s with afternoon highs in the mid 60s. And I think mid 60s in the direct sunlight is perfect, but in the shade it still has a cooler feel. The wind will start to pick up through the day. Expect a westerly wind of 5-15 mph, but gusting to 25 mph. With the low relative humidity that will be in place today, the National Weather Service out of Morristown, Tennessee, has issued a SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT due to increased fire danger.
So no burning today, but if you are raking up leaves to do some spring cleaning, do it earlier because of the afternoon wind.
ENJOY!

MUCH MORE OF THE SAME SUNDAY WITH STORMS SUNDAY NIGHT
Okay… so after a beautiful day on Saturday with breezy westerly winds, we will do it again on Sunday. We actually will be warmer on Sunday than today as the wind picks up out of the west-southwest thanks to a cold front moving into the area. We will likely have elevated fire danger again. Highs will top out in the low 70s with wind gusts to 25-30 mph.
Our cold front will move in late Sunday. At this point I’d say expect showers and storms anytime after dinner to sundown timeframe. While the Storm Prediction Center has a level one risk just skimming the Cumberland Plateau, I don’t really anticipated much in the way of severe storms. We just don’t have any instability and we need that in order to get severe storms. With that said, we will have thunderstorms with gusty wind and locally heavy rain.
