This relentless rain continues as the flood threat rises, but it doesn’t stop today as severe storms are possible on Saturday.

The big rain has already begun!
Let’s dive into the details.
A warm front is swinging through helping to lift rain from south to north. A little wintry mix with some light icing in Upper East Tennessee and along the Tennessee/Kentucky border.
Above and beyond that a colder rain wil pick up through the day.
By the end of the day the heaviest rain will be in the Central Valley and along the Cumberland Plateau where we could see 1′-2″ just by the end of the day and up to 1/2″ along the mountain Counties.
As I mentioned, it’s a colder rainy day with highs only in the 40s.
