A GUSTY DAY TODAY WITH HIGH FIRE DANGER
Happy Friday!
We have an upper level clipper system racing out of the Upper Midwest. This wave of energy is dry, so we will likely not see any rainfall. But, it will produce gusty winds out of the southwest. In the Valley, expect gusts to 25 mph and even strong winds in the mountains. Something to keep in mind if you’re going to be in the Smoky Mountain National Park.
We’ll have plenty of sunshine with that afternoon wind and temperatures will be fairly average for this time of the year. Highs reach the upper 50s to low and mid 60s. Very similar to what we experienced yesterday.

OUR NEXT WEATHERMAKER
Our next threat for severe weather returns next week.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a rare risk on day 5 and 6. That would be next Tuesday and Wednesday.
A strong low pressure will develop on the Lee side of the Rockies and race through the Great Plains. As it lifts into the Upper Midwest, it strengthens and will drag a cold front across the southeastern US. This will likely be a severe weather event for millions. For us in East Tennessee, I’ll be watching closely, but isolated severe storms can be expected late Tuesday into early Wednesday.
Make sure to check back in through the weekend and into the start of next week.
