SO YOU’RE SAYING THERE’S A CHANCE

Behind our cold front on Sunday, we are staying chilly and below average this week. This will set the stage for the winter weather heading our way on Wednesday.
We have another storm moving out of the Deep South on Tuesday. This will roll our way Tuesday night and through our Thursday.
As of now, expect snow to develop through the overnight hours on Tuesday. Wednesday morning could start off with heavy, wet snow.
But, the question remains, as it usually does with our winter storms…. does it stay all snow or do we mix rain in the storm to mitigate and limit our snowfall totals.
It’s possible.
As of now, we start with preliminary snowfall totals… and will fine tune and refine the forecast over the next 24-48 hours.
SNOWFALL FORECAST
Cumberland Plateau – 1″-2″+
TN/KY border – 1″-2″+
Upper East Tennessee Valley – under 2″
South of I-40 – Less than 1″
Smoky Mountains – 2″-4″+

OUR NEXT WEATHER MAKER

While we cool down behind today’s cold front, we will stay nice and quiet through Tuesay. Temperatures will be trending below average with highs in the 30s and 40s.
However, another storm system is on the way with this colder air in place.
An area of low pressure wil develop in the Deep South come Tuesday. That will slide up through Alabama and Georgia through the day on Wednesday. This will throw moisture our way and depending on the temperature of the atmosphere, snow looks to develop. Right now it looks like Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
I will say, at this time, confidence is increasing for snow to stick.
