WARM WITH NEAR RECORD HIGHS TODAY

Good morning!
I hope you have an amazing day! Today will be warmer than yesterday, and yesterday was warm and above average. Actually, we may be near record high temperatures in the southern valley near Chattanooga!
Enjoy it and get outside if you have time.

OUR NEXT WEATHERMAKER

Okay, so we’ve been talking about this next cold front that arrives tomorrow. Over the past few days, the rainfall totals have diminished quite a bit. As of now, most locations around town will only get about a 1/10″ or less. There is a slight chance we may have up to 1/4″ of rain in isolated locations. The point is that this cold front is relative moisture starved. On the back side, there is some colder air aloft, about 5,000 feet, the peaks of the Smoky Mountains. With a northwest flow and falling temps, we could see some light snow in the highest peaks of the Smokies, up to 1″ possible.

ABOVE AND BEYOND THE 7 DAY FORECAST

Looking past the 7 Day Forecast, the Climate Prediction Center has weak  of warmer weather heading our way. We are also looking at above average precipitation. These maps never tell you how far above average or how much rainfall we’ll see. It just gives us an idea where we are trending… up or down.
