WINTER STORM 2025

Wow… this winter storm made a nice little impact in East Tennesse. We ended up with a general 3″-6″ of snowfall area wide. Some of you, the Cumberland Plateau and the Tennessee/Kentucky border, just didn’t get what I was expecting. Same with you in the foothills and mountain counties. That warm air aloft made it’s presence known for a few, but then heavy snow redevloped on the back side of the storm as it moved east.
The interstates seem to be doing fine this morning, but of course, the back roads and side streets will be snowpacked and icy.
Travel safely!

TODAY’S FORECAST

We start the day with temperatures in the 20s. With snow on the ground, we just won’t warm much through the day today. Lunch time temps will be near freezing with afternoon highs right there as well. If you have evening plans, the skies will become partly cloudy with chilly temps. We’ll be in the 20s.
We will hang on to a few flurries as this storm exits and the moistute lingers.

THE REST OF THE STORY

It’s going to be a chilly seven day stretch.
Highs will stay well below average for this time of the year, which is in the mid to upper 40s. Yes, we are in the heart of winter. We will continue to see a few disturbance swinging through this week that may bring in some light flurries or snow showers, mainly for the higher elevations, the classic “horseshoe”
