TODAY’S FORECAST
Today’s going to be a great day, albeit it chilly. We start the day off with a few clouds, but the skies will clear, giving us mostly sunny skies.
High temperatures top out in the mid 40s.
Enjoy it now, because there are changes heading our way.
THE REST OF THE STORY
Okay… we are now in a pattern that will continue to bring us colder weather to East Tennessee. So, now it’s a matter of do we get a storm while this cold air is in place. The answer to that is possibly. I mean, yes, we will get a storm that will move through Sunday into Monday. But, what kind of weather does this storm bring us. As you can see from the maps below, it will bring a wintry mess to our region. The heaviest snow looks to stay north of us, across the Ohio Valley and Upper Midwest. South of that we enter a transition zone where we could see freezing rain. And even further south we will be mostly a cold rain. I think for us, we could start Sunday morning off with light freezing rain or a wintry mix. But, as the low pressure tracks our way, temperatures will continue to warm through the day. I actually think we could see our high on Sunday just before midnight. Behind this front, colder air settles back in with some light mountain snow showers.
