TODAY’S FORECAST

Happy Monday!
We start the day with a wintry mix around East Tennessee. The TN/KY border and Upper East Tennessee saw the majority of it, but there aren’t any major issues expected thanks to the road temperatures above freezing for most locations. Plus, air temperatures have been above freezing as well. This disturbance will roll through today bringing us sunshine before the sun sets, making for an amazing sunset, hopefully. High temperatures climb to near seaonal averages, mid to upper 40s.

THE REST OF THE STORY

Behind today’s upper level wave, high pressure builds in bringing back the sunshine and warmer weather. We will continue to to see above average temperatures through the weekend. Looking ahead, we do have a weak disturbance moving through on Wednesday, but it’s moisture starved. It will likely bring a bit of a breeze and some clouds. Then on Friday, another storm moves through. This one will be a little more potent bringing heavier rain. Right now it looks like a solid 1/2″ or more, especially south and west of downtown Knoxville.
Check back in this week to see how this storm evolves.
